Galvan Housing Resources is committed to building not just housing, but healthy communities. Our Tobacco-Free Program is a public health initiative aimed at reducing secondhand smoke exposure and improving residents’ quality of life across all income levels.

We partner with tenants, landlords, housing authorities, and public health advocates to promote voluntary smoke-free policies in multi-unit housing. Through resources, education, and implementation support, we help providers create safer, healthier environments for everyone—especially families with children, seniors, and individuals with chronic health conditions.

Key program features:

  • Community education on the risks of secondhand smoke
  • Policy-development toolkits and workshops for landlords
  • Technical assistance for enforcement and tenant engagement

Smoke-free housing improves indoor air quality, reduces fire risk, and promotes long-term wellness. This work aligns with our mission to address health disparities through housing and to strengthen neighborhoods from the inside out.
